Rutger Hauer Appreciation Month - ”Blade Runner”
Wednesday May 25, 2022
Wednesday May 25, 2022
We here at Cinema Degeneration have declared May 2022 "Rutger Hauer Appreciation Month!" Twice a week we'll be releasing a show diving into a different film from Mr. Hauer's catalog of 175 film and television roles all throughout the month of May. The late Rutger Hauer, who unfortunately passed away in 2019, was a consummate professional thespian, writer, director, and devoted environmentalist, amongst many many other things. He graced the silver screen in many amazing shockers and brilliant films, normally playing heavies and villains and was known for his intense yet subtle performances. His amazing talent truly knew no bounds. For our 6th episode we bring you the film that Hauer is most known for, the unforgettable 1982 dystopian science fiction classic "BLADE RUNNER" from legendary director Ridley Scott and based on the Phillip K. Dick novel 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?' Also starring Harrison Ford as the titular Blade Runner, a rogue mercenary like cop whose specialty is chasing down and 'retiring' androids / aka replicants in the near future of 2019. Join our hosts Cameron Scott (Cinema Degeneration CEO) and his co-host and filmmaker Tony Walters of RAD Entertainment as they talk about one of their favorite Rutger Hauer films.
