"Hello...Hello...We've got a message for you and you're not going to like it..."
This is the final episode in what is a little over a month long celebration of the career of the one and only, John Carpenter. In this episode, we're bringing you a dissection of the 1987 horror/end of the world/religious thriller, "PRINCE OF DARKNESS". This classic contains the Carpenter superstar alumni of Donald Pleasance, Peter Jason, Dennis Dunn, and Victor Wong. Also, boasting a small supporting role by shock rocker ALICE COOPER! In this story, a group of college graduate students, scientists, and a very concerned priest discover a religious sect's secret in the form of an ancient cannister in the basement of an old church. The cannister swirls with a mysterious green liquid that just may be the most concentrated form of evil in all of history. Join regular host Cameron Scott and special guest host Scott Tepperman- director of such horror hits as "Hells Bells", "Nightblade", and "Truth Or Dare 5" and star of the hit show, "Ghost Hunters International".
Join us! And remember: "Pray For Death."

"Everybody Relax, We’re here!"
We’re continuing on with our John Carpenter Appreciation Month today! Join us this month as we dissect the 1986 American fantasy martial arts action-comedy: “BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA”.
John Carpenter brings back one of our favorite actors to play the gruff truck driver, Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) who helps his friend Wang Chi (Dennis Dunn) rescue his fiance from an ancient sorcerer Lo Pan (James Hong). What’s not to appreciate this week?? Our host Cameron Scott takes this wild ride with fellow actor, filmmaker, cinematographer Tony Walters, who is also the founder of Rad Entertainment and part owner of Midwest Action Fest and Midwest Horror Fest.
Join these reasonable guys who have now experienced some very unreasonable things after re-watching this film where they learn if Lo Pan was the little old basket case on wheels or the ten foot tall roadblock.

Tuesday Feb 23, 2021
"There is still cellular activity in these burned remains. They're not dead yet!"
In this week's episode, we explore the 1982 science-fiction horror film THE THING. We bring back writer/director/filmmaker Daniel Goad as we follow a research team in Antarctica that is hunted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of it's victims. Macready (Kurt Russell) is set on the arduous task of determining who from his crew has been assimilated by The Thing and who remains human. The team members' (Wilford Brimley, T.K. Carter, David Clennon, and Keith David to name some) paranoia threatens to tear them apart before The Thing can.
Join Cameron and Daniel talk about the theatrical version AND the rarely seen television version of the film. Listen in to hear some of the differences and find out which version was liked better!
Haven't heard one of our episodes yet? Let Clark explain what it's like: "I dunno what the hell's in there, but it's weird and pissed off, whatever it is". Check it out!

ATTENTION: You are now entering the Debarkation Area.
Our episode today is devoted to a favorite at Cinema Degeneration: the 1981 science-fiction action film ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK. Join us as we escape into the near future world (of 1997) where the President of the United States (Donald Pleasence) crashes into Manhattan, which now serves as a giant maximum security prison. A convicted bank robber, Snake Plisskin (Kurt Russell) is given 24 hours to rescue the president in order to receive a pardon. He runs into a plethora of eccentric characters along the way played by Lee Van Cleef, Ernest Borgnine, Isaac Hayes, Harry Dean Stanton, Tom Atkins, and Adrienne Barbeau!
Our host Cameron Scott welcomes Jason Arthur for a breakdown of this iconic flick. Jason is a paranormal investigator, cryptozoologist, producer (LEP Productions), and fellow podcaster (Stirring the Pot). Listen to them discuss their love of a character in an eyepatch, double-crosses, and the vast wasteland that is New York.
And remember- The name’s Plissken.

Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
We have declared February John Carpenter Appreciation Month here at the Cinema Degeneration Network. Along with our regular lineup of shows, we will be releasing a show twice a week and every week dedicated to the filmography of this legendary filmmaker and musician. For the 6th show we are covering Carpenter's iconic film about aliens from another planet living in secret amongst us, 1988's "THEY LIVE". Starring an equally legendary actor and wrestler the late Rowdy Roddy Piper, this action packed tale of mind controlling aliens only visible to us with the aid of special sunglasses is uncannily relevant in todays world. Joining host Cameron Scott for this special show are three special guest co-hosts including Cameron's wife Patty Scott and filmmakers Jessie Seitz and Marcus Koch. Join them on this trip as they discuss a film that raises many many questions about our society and culture at large, even today as much as it did back in 1988. Oh, and make sure to bring plenty of bubblegum.
